Rooted is a 10-week discipleship program and a catalyst for life-change. It evokes questions and conversations in a group experience designed to help you grow closer to Jesus and others. Learn to honor God at church on Sunday. Experience honoring God together in small groups.

Registration is really easy. Just click REGISTER and follow the steps. Rooted is offered several times per year. Once registered, you’ll get an email with all the info you need.

For all adult sessions, the cost is $35 per person or $60 per couple. It covers the workbook for journaling and reflection and a catered meal at the graduation celebration.

For Youth, the suggested donation to cover the youth curriculum is $15.

All of the Rooted groups meet onsite at the Carmel Church location.

Childcare is available. It is a suggested donation of $10 per night.

If you miss the first week, your leader will contact you and you can still join. For the best experience, it is highly recommended that you do not miss more than 2 weeks. If your schedule does not work for that now, feel free to jump in when the next Rooted session starts.

We know that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe that the investment is worth it. If you know you will miss more than 2 meetings, we ask you to wait until the next session of Rooted. The 10 weeks are all important and build on each other. The high bar of commitment and honor to your group will pay off in the end and will maximize everyone’s experience.

Each group will have the opportunity to serve to fulfill a need in the 10-week session.

Our Rooted team prays through participants and makes groups of 10-15 participants based on age, marital status, and life stage. We create groups for married couples, single individuals, women, men, young adults, etc.. Groups depend on the demographics of registered participants, with careful consideration and prayer. While we aim to accommodate requests, we can't guarantee all friend or leader preferences due to various factors. But, we will make sure the experience is amazing.

The main Rooted curriculum is for adults (18+). However, there is a Youth curriculum called “Rooted Essentials.” If you are interested in joining a Rooted YouthSD group, please email joysinetm@thecitysd.org

If the registration is closed, please sign up for the next Rooted session. Typically, this means that it is full, or that the first two weeks have passed.

Rooted is the best on-ramp to the life of the church and Small Groups. At the end of the 10 weeks, you’ll have a Group for the next season. It’s the perfect setup.

Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email, which will let you know how to get your workbook. If you sign up in person, we’ll have the workbook for you at the registration table.

We believe in Rooted and the life-changing experience and want everyone to participate. If the cost of the workbook and/or childcare is a burden, please contact us about available scholarships.
